Robinson Services raise money for CLIC Sargent by sporting wacky wigs!
On Wig Wednesday on 22nd May, staff at Robinson Services sported colourful wigs at work to help raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and successfully raised a wonderful £500. Robinson Services joined many other schools, workplaces and groups of friends to wear a wacky wig for a day and make a donation to CLIC Sargent.
Every week, two children and young people in Northern Ireland hear the shocking news they have cancer. The gruelling, often life-saving cancer treatment can last up to three years and frequently leads to children and young people losing their hair. Wig Wednesday gives people the opportunity to show their support for these children and young people by wearing a wig and raising money for CLIC Sargent’s Home from Home Appeal.

“Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience for many reasons. One particularly upsetting aspect of the journey is hair loss and having to wear a wig. This initiative is designed for people to show that they care about the children and young people who go through this experience, while also fundraising to support them. We are delighted that Robinson Services decided to show their support for children and young people with cancer and their families by getting involved, and we thank them for their fantastic fundraising efforts.”

It is a fantastic idea because it is so easy for everyone to get involved and every pound we raised will help ease the financial and emotional burden families in Northern Ireland face at an already very difficult time as they can travel an average 500 miles a week to access the cancer treatment they need for their sick child. We had a lot of fun taking part in Wig Wednesday and I really enjoyed seeing everyone wearing some crazy wigs in the office, but most importantly I am glad are able to help CLIC Sargent to keep doing the amazing work they do.”
