On your marks, get set, go as Robinson Services relay team storm home in Belfast Marathon

“On your marks, get set, go” This was the phrase that caused sleepless nights for many athletes across Northern Ireland and beyond as they made their final preparations for the Belfast City Marathon on Monday 1 May. However this was not the case for The Robinson Services seasoned relay team as they took on the gruelling 26.2 mile challenge through the streets and suburbs of  Belfast and finished in a respectable 3 hours 54 minutes.

Robinson Services Delighted to Support NIHF Housekeeping Awards 2017


Housekeepers from throughout Northern Ireland gathered at the Clayton Hotel , Belfast recently to discover who had cleaned up in this year’s Hotel & Guesthouse Housekeeping Awards. The event, which was hosted by the BBC’s Jo Scott, saw the winner in the under 90 room category go to the Tara Lodge with the runners up being the Bushmills Inn Hotel and Belmore Court & Motel . The winner in the over 90 Rooms category was the Holiday Inn Express Belfast with the Runner up the Ibis Belfast City Centre

The awards, organised by the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, are held on an annual basis and have been designed to showcase the important role of housekeeping and reward excellent achievements of housekeeping staff. This is the eighth year they have taken place and Tourism Northern Ireland, Bunzl Rafferty Hospitality Products, Ecolab and Robinson Services supported them.

“This competition focused on the housekeeping department and the important role they play in a hotel’s success. They are often forgotten and overlooked when awards are been given out and the NIHF is keen to redress this situation. The Housekeeping Awards were started eight years ago and I am delighted to report that support from within the industry has been exceptional and this coupled with assistance from our sponsors has made the 2017 event an outstanding success”

The 2017 competition included a team assessment day with all housekeepers undertaking a range of tasks evaluating the skills they use everyday. This was followed by a surprise on-site inspection for the  shortlisted finalists. The judging panel assessed the winners on cleanliness, attention to detail and a good overall guest impression. The main objective of the competition is to raise standards in the industry whilst rewarding and recognising the housekeeping departments in Northern Ireland’s hotels.”

Back to School with A Difference as Robinson Services Wins Education Authority Contract

It was back to school with a difference for Robinson Services as they announced the award of the contract to provide Female Hygiene, Clinical and Nappy Waste Units to The Education Authority for Northern Ireland across almost 400 schools throughout Northern Ireland. Ballynahinch. This contract award involves the retention of the contract for the Belfast Education and Library Board covering two hundred and eight schools , first awarded in 2014 and the addition of the South Eastern Education and Library Board with and additional 0nee hundred and seventy six schools both effective 1st April 2017.

Robinson Services All Charged Up as they Secure Green Light with NIE Networks Contract Win

Congratulations to Peter Jebb, Security Officer at The Meadows Shopping Centre who was recently awarded the inaugural David Robinson Recognition Award for 2016


Peter recently assisted in preventing a suicide whilst on duty at The Meadows Shopping Centre Portadown. Pictured centre, receiving his certificate and £100 gift voucher from David Robinson Managing Director and Gary Wilson Key Account Manager.

Robinson Services appointed to clean 109 Danske Bank ATMs

Robinson Services are delighted to undertake a one off clean at all 109 off-site Danske Bank ATMs. This work will involve an intensive clean of  the monitor, key pad,  light box and other peripherals including the ATM signage surrounds along with canopies. We will use specialist chemicals and techniques to clean and sanitise the ATMs, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and ultimately improving the ATM appearance.

David Robinson Managing Director commented : “On the approach to Christmas and the usage of ATM machines at its highest, it is important that each unit remains clean and presentable. The detailed cleaning regime agreed with Danske Bank will ensure that card users receive a positive experience at the ATMs in preparation for the high transaction activity expected during December.”
