Robinson Services Senior Management Team Splash Down at Cable & Wake

Whilst the Company Positioning Statement is “It’s Our Business to Support Yours ” the only support for the Directors and Senior Management of Robinson Services came in the form of life jackets as they enjoyed an away day afternoon at Cable & Wake Aqua Park in Belfast as part of a team building exercise.

Cable & Wake are based at Knockbracken Reservoir, Carryduff just 15 minutes outside Belfast city where there is a Boathouse with viewing platform looking over the water activities, a glamping village, cafes and sauna.
The Aqua Park offers a massive inflatable floating obstacle course with slides, monkey bars, climbing wall, hurdles, Iceberg and lots more. The cable park has 2 floating obstacles and uses a Rixen Little Bro Operating System.
David Robinson , Managing Director Robinson Services commented:
” We decided to have a afternoon out with a difference and the weather made the day even more enjoyable. Team building is an integral part of what makes us successful  and the challenges  presented on the day to the team were met with as much vigour and gusto by everyone as they do in their day to day roles within the business. Well done to all the senior management team and directors for taking part and my challenge now is how to use this learning experience in our business environment.”

Team Robinson Services Tri Their Very Best at Portballintrae Ultra Sprint Distance Team Triathlon

Happy competitors from Team Beam after completing the Portballintrae Ultra Sprint Distance Team Triathlon.
Now we all know that the Robinson Services place a great emphasis on training and that the Senior Managers tend to lead from the front when it comes to this important part of the success achieved by Robinson Services in the Support Services Sector.
However did you also know that they often outside work put this training into practice in aid of worthy local charities.
On this occasion on  Saturday 23 June 2018 the challenge in front of Team Robinson Services was the Portballintrae Ultra Sprint Distance Team Triathlon.  As well as being one of the main sponsors of the 750 metre swim, 20km cycle and 7.5km run Robinson Services decided to go the extra mile – excuse the pun – and enter a team.

Team Robinson Services comprised Anthony Best , Managing Director Lacuna Developments, David Robinson , Managing Director Robinson Services and Sinead Sharpe, Human Resources Director at Robinson Services who were competing to raise money for two worthy local Charities- Sports Academy George and Cancer Fund for Children.

After weeks of dedicated training it was the day of reckoning on Saturday 23 June and there was no going back.
Anthony Best entered the bay at Portballintrae Harbour and swam his heart out for 750 metres before making his way up the jetty and passing on his timing chip to David Robinson.
Heading out towards Bushmills onto the undulating White Park Road and turning left just before Dunserverick it was Blood, Sweat and lots of Gears for David. He followed the Coast Road but there was no time for sightseeing as he returned via the descent into Bushmills . It was the home straight now as he pushed his pedals all the way along the Ballaghmore Road to transition and handing their timing chip to Sinead Sharpe.
Sinead faced a challenging yet spectacular 7.5km run hugging the coastal clifftop path beyond Runkerry Strand. She embraced the odd steep climb with ease and pushed on through the pain barrier as she eventually arrived at the Giants Causeway Visitor Centre. This soon became a place in the distance as Sinead powered on via the tramline path  before crossing the boardwalk over the River Bush. Motoring up the hill to the car park Sinead brought her team home in a credible time by finishing at the boat club.
David Robinson , Managing Director , Robinson Services commented: ” A BIG THANKS to everyone involved in making this day such a success and raising much needed funds for this years chosen charities. A personal thanks to my team mates, Anthony and Sinead for agreeing to join team Robinson Services and they have already foolishly agree to help us beat our time with a new PB in next years event. “

For the second  year in a row Robinson Services has featured in The Belfast Telegraph top 50 largest employers in Northern Ireland. New business opportunities with Northern Ireland Electricity, Randox Laboratories and Belfast Metropolitan College has seen our position change from 34th to 33rd, representing a 9% increase in employee numbers. Whilst not measured by employee numbers, we have also enjoyed increased growth from within our laundry and hygiene businesses.

David Robinson, Managing Director of Robinson Services, commented;

With business growth on the island of Ireland at its lowest since 2013 and the number of businesses reporting to be in stability mode at its highest since 2011, we are naturally delighted that our turnover and employee numbers have both increased during the previous 12 months. Whilst conscious of the increasing pressure on the high street, the spectre of inflation and uncertainty around Brexit, it is reassuring to see that Robinson Services has been listed amongst the top 50 employers in Northern Ireland once again.

Northern Cricket Union Bowled over with Three Year Sponsorship Deal with Robinson Services

The country’s biggest cricket league is to be sponsored by one of the country’s biggest employers. Robinson Services , one of Northern Ireland’s largest Support Services providers with its Head office in Antrim and other satellite offices in Belfast has announced it is lending its name to the Northern Cricket Union’s Premier and Senior Leagues in a sponsorship deal over the next three years. Robinson Service will also sponsor the awards to players who score a century, take six wickets or perform a hat trick.

It’s not surprising that Robinson Services have chosen to support the Northern Cricket Union. The four divisions of the company’s business which David Robinson , Managing Director at Robinson Services describes as ‘a winning batting order ’ – Cleaning, Hygiene, Security and Laundry – rely on the same qualities for success as in any team sport: commitment, passion, talent, and excellence.

David Robinson Managing Director,Robinson Services had this to say on the Sponsorship agreement:
“There are many parallels between Robinson Services and sport in relation to the people we work with. We both rely on experience and expertise to train staff and players to the highest standard, featuring the latest techniques and with trained staff offering support at all times.
Such dedicated training of our staff has produced a sports style work-rate for Robinson Services and delighted our top clients including  Forestside Shopping Centre, McDonalds, Tesco, Lisney Belfast and The National Trust. The company continues to go from strength to strength, and along with Alan Waite, Chairman Northern Cricket Union  we hope that our support for the Northern Cricket Union will yield a successful  3 year period  for both parties involved in the partnership.”
Alan Waite, Chairman, Northern Cricket Union commented further :
“We would like to thank Robinson Services for their fantastic support and it it was David’s  love affair with cricket — he was once captain and a very capable wicket-keeper of the 3rd XI at Muckamore Cricket Club – his words not mine –  and is now a trustee of the Muckamore club —  that has led to today’s sponsorship deal for the Northern Cricket Union’s premier and senior leagues. We know as a company Robinson Services are keen to support community projects such as Antrim Festival in addition to sponsorship of many local sports teams . We are delighted with this sponsorship and we look forward to working with Robinson Services over the next three years.”
